When should I open my pool?

By

It's a question we start getting after Christmas-"When should I open my pool?". Many of us muddle through the dreary winter weather and dream about warm, sunny days by the pool and the smell of fresh chlorine. At Apex Pool and Spa, we start taking pool opening appointments on March 1st.

Did you know that some people never close their pools? Many pool owners in Middle Tennessee choose to keep their backyard oasis flowing even in the freezing months. Some do it because they enjoy seeing the water year-round and others do it to prevent frozen pipes. Whatever the reason...it's certainly an option for anyone whose pool is below the frost line.

Above ground pool owners-don't do it!

Spring weather in Tennessee typically starts to warm up enough to swim by early April. Water temps then are usually preferred by children and penguins, though. More tolerable conditions arrive by the end of April and by early May it's time to get the floats out.

Scheduled pool openings may fluctuate depending on the weather. It's not completely out of the norm to get snow in Tennessee in April, and we understand the need to protect your investment and equipment.

Are you your own pool opening team? Great ! Pool opening chemicals go on sale April 1 at Apex Pool and Spa and we can't wait to show you our new showroom. We offer free water testing at our Stewart County location. Need advice on chemicals? Swing by and see us. Located at 2602 US-79 in Indian Mound, Tennessee.
